The GEO comes pre-configured with industry standard and generally optimal settings, you may wish to adjust them to make it a perfect fit for your home.

Pressing the dial in the direction of the Blue arrow will access the menu; revealing Mode, Fan, Schedule, Runtime and Settings options.

Mode: Allows you to switch between Heat, Cool, Off and Auto modes

Fan: Allows you to set the fan to Auto (only runs while thermostat is calling for hot or cold air), On (Fan is on constantly) or Clean Cycle (Fan runs 15 minutes out of each hour to circulate air) You will also be able to view your air filter reminder and adjust the air filter reminder settings here.

Schedule: Allows you to decide if you would like to run a schedule or hold a constant temperature. You may also set your heat and cool schedules for each individual day or for the entire week in this menu.

Runtime: Shows How many hours and minutes your Heat, AC and fan have ran since installation

Settings: Adjust a wide variety of parameters related to how the thermostat operates, and its network connection

Below this heading, we shall elaborate on the details of each item in the settings menu and its various sub menus

Network: Displays current network information if the thermostat is already connected. Otherwise, it will ask if you would like to connect using the App or through WPS

Display: Controls various features for the thermostats screen

  • Backlight: Set backlight duration as off, 5 to 15 seconds or always on
  • Format: Set how time (12 hour or 24), Date (MM/DD or DD/MM) and temperature (Fahrenheit or Celsius) are displayed
  • Language: As of right now English is the only supported language for the GEO
  • Orientation: Rotate clockwise for vertical or counter clockwise for horizontal

System: Controls How the thermostat interacts with your HVAC system, offers various battery usage profiles, and temperature calibration

  • System Type: Gas Furnace, Electric Furnace, Heatpump, Boiler with or without fan. Set to match your particular heating and cooling equipment
  • Available Mode: Heat & Cool, Heat only or Cool only. Which modes the thermostat can be set to. Auto will only work if heat and cool are enabled
  • Temp limits: Set Minimum and maximum temperatures for heat and cool (45F-90F/7C-32C)
  • Stage 1 Swing: Adjust your swing value. For more information on swing value, consult with one of our articles on the subject such as this one
  • Stage 2 Offset: Enables and disables stage two heating and cooling, also lets you set the temperature differential for when your second stage will activate.
  • Minimum Run: The minimum time that your system will run and minimum time that it will rest between cycles. On time can be set between no minimum and 10 minutes. Off time can be set between 2 and 10 minutes.
  • Calibration: Adjust temperature calibration by up to +/-9 degrees Fahrenheit or 5 degrees Celsius.

Optimized offers an 8 month average battery life and more sluggish response to network commands. Balanced is a happy medium between the 2 and offers on average 6 months of battery life

Reset: Used to reset the thermostat to factory defaults. Particularly useful if the thermostat is having network issues

About Device: Provides information on the software version, wifi protocol version, and most importantly the Device ID. The Device ID is particularly useful to our support team if you have trouble with your GEOs network connection

About Network: Shows network Name and status as well as it's IP address and whether or not the thermostat is online.

Time/Date: Allows you to set the time and date when the thermostat is offline
